- A bowl with water
- A glass bottle
- A candle
- A lighter

ACTIVITY DEVELOPMENT
Step 1:
Take the candle.
Step 2:
Put the candle inside the bowl with water. (Adult supervision)
Step 3:
Take the lighter. (Adult help and supervision)
Step 4:
Light the candlewick. (Adult help and supervision)
Step 5:
Take the bottle and turn it upside down. Place it over the candle so that the candle is inside the bottle. Hold it there and wait until the water rises inside the bottle. (Adult supervision)

Still, children must have constant supervision of an adult because very dangerous materials are being used and could cause an accident.
CHANGES FOR CHILDREN OLDER THAN 6
This science experiment for kids at home activity can be done with older children. You can include bottles with openings of different diameters and candles of different sizes to compare results. You can also use water at different temperatures. All must be done with adult supervision. At this age, it is possible to explain at the end of the experiment what happens and why it occurs so that the child can understand the associated concepts more profoundly.
