Let’s keep in mind that children’s first mathematical experience is with shapes, sizes, patterns, etc. This experience will prepare their brains to do more complex things; plus, children will reject complex processes and focus on simpler stuff because they aren’t ready for that.

When children do math by using various materials, they develop each one of their senses and, at the same time, two sides of the brain. The right side of the brain is in charge of spatiality, and the left side is in charge of processing concepts.

Using different materials help children will learn mathematical concepts by playing.
