ACTIVITY DEVELOPMENT
Step 1:
The adult does this step. Paste the drawing on the outside part of the bag.
Step 2:
The adult does this step. Put the hair gel into the plastic bag.
Step 3:
The adult does this step. Put the pom-poms into the plastic bag.
Step 4:
Children do this step. Sort the pom-poms over the colored strips according to the color.

HOW TO DEVELOP THIS EARTH DAY ACTIVITY WITH CHILDREN OF OTHER AGES?
CHANGES FOR CHILDREN UNDER 2 YEARS OLD
You can do this Earth Day activity with younger children. To reduce the difficulty level and make the exercise more attractive, children won’t need to arrange the pom-poms by color.
You can draw some different figures for children to try to place the pom-poms inside of these figures.
The important thing about this preschool activity is that children can explore with each of the senses since the sensory bag has textures and colors and has a pleasant smell due to the gel. In this way, they will carry out an activity appropriate to the children’s development and abilities.
CHANGES FOR CHILDREN OLDER THAN 4
You can do this Earth Day activity with older children.
To increase the difficulty level, you can make ice cubes with the pom-poms inside; then, you can arrange the ice in a bucket or container for the children to play with the cubes, feeling the temperatures.
In this way, children will carry out a sensory activity appropriate to their development and abilities.
