Children develop them when they are exposed to different activities that require hand-eye coordination, but what are fine motor skills, and what is it for?
When talking about fine motor skills, we talk about those movements made with the body’s small muscles that need strength and precision, such as the hands, fingers, feet, eyes, tongue, mouth, and wrist.
We need fine motor skills in activities that require coordination since the hands and eyes are generally used simultaneously.
Various activities help children stimulate and gain strength in their muscles, allowing them to master each of their movements, such as: tearing, chopping, twisting, or cutting.
These activities help children grasp the pincer, which is essential for children to write. However, the pincer grip will help school; this will facilitate pressure and grip movements on objects, which is very important for children to perform daily tasks, such as tying shoelaces, eating, brushing teeth, or dressing.
All of this in an independent way generates a feeling of confidence in children and their own abilities.
Fine motor skills can be stimulated at school and home—the sooner their stimulation, the greater the children’s ability to learn.
The important thing is that children can perform more complex activities as these skills are developed and strengthened.

CHANGES FOR CHILDREN UNDER 4 YEARS OLD
You can do this recycling projects for kids activity with younger children. To reduce the difficulty level, you won’t need to change the materials.
However, larger holes must be made in the tube so that children can perform the activity easily.
Remember that the smaller the gaps, the greater the skill in their hand movements. In this way, children will carry out a recyclable activity appropriate to their development and abilities.
CHANGES FOR CHILDREN OVER 6 YEARS OLD
This recycling projects for kids activity can be done with older children. To increase the level of difficulty, you won’t need to change the materials.
Children must take the pipe-cleaner and try to push it through and across the cardboard tube completely.
This motor skill activity requires great coordination between the hand. In this way, children will carry out an activity appropriate to their development and abilities.
