- Soda caps
- Wooden sticks
- Colored pom-poms in a container
- Scalpel
- A CD
- Tweezers
- A cardboard tube
- A pencil
- Liquid silicone
ACTIVITY DEVELOPMENT
(ADULT SUPERVISION AND HELP)
Step 1:
The adult does this step. Use the pencil to mark where a small hole is going to be opened with the scalpel.
Step 2:
The adult does this step. Use the scalpel to open a hole where it was marked with the pencil.
Step 3:
The adult does this step. Glue the CD on the cardboard tube.
Step 4:
The adult does this step. Paste the soda caps on the wooden stick.
Step 5:
The adult does this step. Pass the wooden sticks through the holes made in the cardboard tube.
Step6:
Kids can do this part. Use the tweezers to take the pom-poms and place them in each soda cap, as shown in the image.

HOW TO DEVELOP THIS EARTH DAY ACTIVITY FOR KIDS WITH CHILDREN OF OTHER AGES?
CHANGES FOR CHILDREN UNDER 4 YEARS OLD
You can do this Earth Day activity for kids with younger children. To reduce the difficulty level, you won’t need to change the materials.
Children should not use the tweezers; they will do it using their hands.
It is important that, during the process, children strengthen and stimulate their pincer grip using the index finger and thumb. In this way, children will carry out the activity appropriate to their development and abilities.
MODIFICATIONS FOR CHILDREN OVER 6 YEARS OLD
You can do this Earth Day activity with older children. To increase the difficulty level, you won’t need to change the materials.
Children must take the wooden sticks and insert them into the cardboard tube and then arrange the pom-poms using the tweezers.
This Earth Day activity requires greater precision in the movements of their hands and fingers and concentration. In this way, children will carry out an activity appropriate to their development and abilities.
