The child's absorbing mind is by nature creative, hence the saying "children are like a sponge." From birth, children are discovering a whole new world for themselves. They are always learning and acquiring new knowledge. This knowledge feeds children's lives, allowing them to know each other and structure their personalities.
Sensory activities allow children to enhance their senses and, in this same way, have an approach to the knowledge of reality. That's because they use all their senses by observing, touching different materials, smell, and sometimes listening to the sounds made by specific materials.
When children carry out these activities, they use their heads and hands, which allows them to prepare for math and language. Thus, in the not-too-distant future, developing skills related to these areas will be easy.
Through these activities, children can experience concepts such as big-small, high-low, thick-thin, liquid-viscous, among others allowing them to think about those opposite concepts.
