Preserving Memories For The Future

Preserving Memories for the Future

It is so important, when your baby is small, to preserve memories of them. No sooner have you blinked an eye than they are older and you have missed keeping memories of them anywhere other than in your mind.

It is great to keep memories live and documented, to give you and your child joy in the future.

A great way of doing this is to take a photo of your child every day for a year. This is a brilliant way of seeing the little changes in their face, height and ability over the course of time.

If you’d rather, take a video of them every month and piece them together to create an annual DVD. You’ll be so surprised at how much they change in that time.

Another great way of remembering what has passed is to record it at the moment it happens.

Every time something funny or silly, cute or clever happens with your child then put it on a piece of paper, fold it up and place it in a ‘sugar shaker’, bottle or jar.

On New Year’s Eve or the child’s birthday open this up and look through all of the notes you have written. These are good memories to laugh and smile over and then preserve forever in a lovely notebook.

A time capsule is a great way of preserving a moment in time. Some photos, a magazine or newspaper, or some personal momentos.  Seal it up and choose a set date to open it; their 18th, 21st or 30th birthday, their wedding day or the day their first child is born.

Whatever you choose it is a great way of preserving memories. Always keep hold of a few special items too- their favorite blanket, teddy and one of their first shoes and items of clothing are all so very special.
