Easy Craft Ideas for Kids
We are often looking to teach our boys and girls hygiene and personal care habits that promote the strengthening of their self-esteem. We must also teach love, respect, and care for other people, animals, and the environment.
The role of the family in the emotional development of children is essential. Depending on the bond generated with their family environment, they will develop confidence in themselves and in others, self-esteem, affection, communication, conflict resolution, and the establishment of effective relationships with other people throughout their lives.

The objective of the activity: With this animal craft activity, we will teach children the care and hygiene they should have with pets.
Difficulty level: This animal craft activity is designed for children to follow the instructions given and do it independently.

WHAT MATERIALS DO WE NEED?
- Colored foam
- Black marker
- Wooden sticks
- Liquid clear glue
- Scissors
- A round bowl or other round objects for tracing
HOW ARE WE GOING TO DO OUR ANIMAL CRAFT DRAWING?
Step 1:
We start by putting the bowl or round object upside down and tracing a circle onto the foam. You can draw your favorite pet. In this case, we are drawing a chicken with each of its parts.
Step 2:
Cut out your pet’s body with all the parts, then, using clear liquid glue, paste each part. (under adult supervision)
Step 3:
With the marker, make the smallest parts of your pet puppet that are difficult to make with foam.
Step 4:
Finally, glue a wooden stick on the back of your finished puppet. When the puppet is finished, the parent can begin to talk about handwashing before and after touching a pet and the importance of keeping the place where it will stay or live clean.

MODIFICATIONS FOR YOUNGER CHILDREN
This animal crafts activity can be developed with younger children. If they cannot cut with scissors, they can use a paper bag and, with paint or colored markers, draw their pet or favorite animal’s face.
