Sensory stimuli are essential for children to activate their brains. By being in direct contact with the environment using their senses (hear, sight, smell, touch, and taste), children’s brains are being developed through gathering information.

One technique to develop sensory stimulation is through activities from which children can perceive sensations that act on each sense. These stimuli are interpreted and converted by the brain into new knowledge, generating new neural connections. All these sensations come through children’s own experiences.

Children’s minds are infinite; therefore, we must prepare the environment in such a way that they can leverage the stimuli to develop its capacities. That means that the more stimuli older children can perceive, the better their learning abilities and recognition of their reality will be.

Through children experiencing this exploration process, they must depend on the appropriate stimuli. They must also have an interest in acquiring new knowledge.

Their ability to relate positively with their environment and society depends on strengthening their autonomy and self-confidence. This way, they will be useful people capable of building a better society.
