María Montessori understood the great importance of developing skills and intellectual stimulation in the first years of life. Between 0-6, children have an unlimited capacity to absorb the world around them. From their environment, they learn the good and the bad. Thus, they need accompaniment in this process, not because they cannot strengthen their intelligence by themselves, but because they need someone to help them channel and organize all the knowledge they are acquiring.

María Montessori classified the stages in planes of development. From 3 to 6 years old, the absorbing mind carries out activities related to strengthening the skills necessary for day to day, including mathematics, language, practical and sensory life. The reasoning mind, this plane is from 6 to 12 years old.
At this stage, children already understand abstract concepts, and knowledge is integrated. Specific studies are carried out in five areas: development of the universe and the earth, the evolution of life, human beings’ development, communication by signs, and numbers.
The humanistic mind is eager to understand humanity and what it can do for it. And finally, there is the specialist mind taking its place in the world.
