Children are often exposed to different circumstances that test their abilities. This leads them to feel a certain level of stress, which is not bad at all. However, when the stress load is too high, it can lead to the child becoming ill. As adults, it is tough to prevent children from going through moments that can cause them stress, but we can help them cope with this situation in the best way.

Usually, children find it hard to express themselves verbally when it comes to talking about their feelings. The adult must know how to identify and recognize changes in children’s behavior. Some become silent, aggressive, not very participatory, lose sleep, appetite, etc.

Children who have adequately developed their emotional skills have a greater capacity to cope with stressful situations and emerge victoriously. On the other hand, children who have not sufficiently developed their emotional skills will present more stress. It will be more difficult for them to overcome this situation.

How can we help children to manage stress properly? The best way to help children is by enhancing their self-esteem. It is crucial that they feel loved and supported. Developing their confidence allows them to feel capable of completing the things they choose to do. They will adequately assume the success and failure in their lives.

An excellent Valentine activity to develop with children is crafts. With it, children develop many skills, cognitive, physical, and emotional. When children make crafts, they learn by manipulating materials, as proposed by the Montessori learning method.

Remember that abstractly acquiring concepts is very difficult at an early age and can hinder children’s learning processes. By elaborating on manual activities, they learn concretely. They reinforce their memory and attention by remembering the steps to follow. Their self-confidence will be strengthened along with their self-esteem since they can see what they’ve accomplished.

Super easy DIY craft that kids would love.
