Christmas is an important and memorabledate we love to share with our beloved ones. In fact, there is not a better opportunity for children to give a present made by themselves. Making crafts will allow children to give their families a beautiful gift. Still, they will also feel happy and proud of themselves when making those gifts because they realize they can create with their hands.
When children make handcrafts, they receive tons of mental and physical benefits. Although stress can be felt at any age, these kinds of activities are intended to be stress-free. Children also enhance their hand-brain coordination as the brain is structuring and ordering thoughts.
Through crafts, children develop their creativity and ability to solve problems; that is, it helps improve boys’ and girls’ intelligence. That’s why so many manual activities are carried out in the kindergarten, as it is a learning strategy.
When doing manual activities, children can work with different materials. This will help them to perceive and identify textures. Similarly, this allows us to teach children about the importance of recycling and the new use that we can give our materials. Goal: Through this Santa Claus craft activity, children will strengthen their hand and finger movements while doing the crafts.

MATERIALS
- Glue
- Colored paper (red & pink)
- Scissors
- A marker
- White cardboard/construction paper
ACTIVITY DEVELOPMENT
Step 1:
Fold the cardboard/construction paper and cut it into a semi-circle, like a half-moon shape.
Step 2:
Use the pink paper to draw Santa’s face.
Step 3:
Paste the Santa’s face to the semi-circle.
Step 4:
Draw Santa’s eyes and mouth using the marker.
Step 5:
Use the red paper to cut Santa’s hat for this Santa Claus craft. Next, cut a piece of white paper to make the “fur” trim for the hat. Also, cut a small circle (like a ball) to glue to the top of Santa’s hat. Then gluethe hat to Santa’s head.

CHANGES FOR CHILDREN UNDER 4 YEARS OLD – Christmas Handcraft Activity for Younger Children
It would help if you lowered the difficulty level of this Santa Claus craft activity to carry it out with younger children. It is possible children don’t know to use the scissors safely, so an adult should help them cut out the figures and shapes, and then children can glue them together.
CHANGES FOR CHILDREN OLDER THAN 6 – Handcraft Christmas Activity for Kids
This Santa Claus craft activity can be done with older children. Indeed,children have already had to strengthen their hand muscles and precision in their movements at this age. After cutting and arranging each figure forming their craft, they can decorate it using glitter or cotton balls. For this process, they need to have the ability to put the glitter and on the glue line.
