Baby Jesus Stars Edible Playdough Recipe for Kids Sensorial Worksheets (2-4 Year Olds)

The best way to favor children’s proper development at an early age is by performing activities that promote the strengthening of the senses. The sensory stimulation has specific objectives, and you should take this into account before doing any of these activities with them.

You probably won’t see the results of this immediately because it is a process that takes time. Another thing is the child’s abilities; you must consider this to implement the activity that better suits them.

With sensory stimulation just like in our edible playdough recipe activity, we look to strengthen children’s development as follows: recognition and adjustment to their surroundings; quick brain answers against stimuli; better neural connections that promote cognitive processes; recognition and separation of sensory stimuli (everything that is perceived using the senses such as smell, taste, textures, shapes, movements, sounds, etc.)

The activity should be carried out as a game to catch children’s attention according to their interests and abilities. That way, children will feel relaxed with the willingness to do the activity. You must consider that as children develop signs of progress, the activity must change, and its difficulty level should increase.

With the sensory activity, children will be more autonomous, self-confident, their self-esteem will be better, and that will motivate them, integral to children’s development (cognitive, physical, artistic, and emotional).

HOW TO DEVELOP THIS EDIBLE PLAYDOUGH RECIPE ACTIVITY WITH CHILDREN OF OTHER AGES?

CHANGES FOR CHILDREN UNDER 2 YEARS OLD

You can do this edible playdough recipe activity with younger children. To reduce the difficulty level, you won’t need to change the materials. At this age, children have not developed strength and agility in the movements of their fingers, hands, and wrists. The adult can make the Play-Doh, and children can experiment with it, make figures freely, let their creativity fly, and strengthen fine motor skills. In this way, children will carry out a preschool activity appropriate to their development and abilities.

CHANGES FOR CHILDREN OVER 4 YEARS OLD

You can carry out this edible playdough recipe activity with older children. To increase the difficulty level, you won’t need to change the materials. At this age, children have already developed their motor skills to carry out the kids’ activity autonomously and independently, except for the step in which they should use the microwave. It is vital to bear in mind that although children can already carry out the activity alone, they must always be in the company of an adult. In this way, children can carry out an exercise appropriate to their development and skills.
